Sr. Storage Solutions Engineer

Justification:

This critical Senior Storage Solutions Engineer position within Global Solutions Operations will have responsibility to support the design, build and test solutions simulating real Enterprise customer Applications including Oracle, SAP and MS SQL environments. The Solutions Engineer should have extensive experience working with EMC Storage platforms in a production environment. Responsible for developing procedures, performing functional and performance tests, and documentation of test results.



Education:

BS Technical Degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline
5+ years experience as a Storage Administrator in a production environment.

Skills:                  Hands on experience with EMC Symmetrix and Clariion platforms.
Hands on experience in installing, configuring, upgrading and maintenance of Symmetrix and Clariion storage platforms.

Hands on experience in setup, configuration and maintenance of Fiber Channel fabrics (preferably using CISCO and Brocade switches).

Experience in architecting and creating bin files.


Experience setting up FC HBAs, drivers and tools.

Experience in SRDF, MirrorView and Sancopy setup, configuration and troubleshooting.

Experience with PowerPath, TimeFinder, SnapView, Solutions Enabler, Replication Manager and Networker.

Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Unix system administration is a plus.
Ability to multi-task without compromising quality.
Good customer service and communication (oral and written) skills.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Duties:
Interface with the field and Engineering to capture real life Enterprise Customer environments and create requirements documents. Develop detailed test plans and build the test environment in the lab. Execute the test plans and document test results and present findings to peers and Sr. management.

这个要求，只有EMC的资深工程师能够达到了。
其他场合的人，几乎是不可能的。
所以看不懂，如果是EMC，应该不会提这种要求，如果不是EMC，为什么需要对EMC了解这么深？
看不懂，招的是天人。

外资公司要求比较高的，总体来说这些要求也不算是很高，他们的SAN环境比较复杂而已，我一个朋友公司AIX的机器就有千台，可想而知后面的存储什么样。。。。

这样的公司一般是AIX+HP-UX+Solaris+Windows+Linux的平台完全异构，在再这上面跑些Cluster的应用，主要是对Oracle和DB2的集群，然后应用跑SAP，XI，R3之类的东西，在SAP上面的具体ERP软件就是靠自己开发了。。。。也就这点东西，所以对管理员的要求比较高，要求什么都要会。。其实接触过了也就不难了。。呵呵。。。

最后，还要在这个异构的平台上实施一个SAN环境下的备份，Netbackup，Networker之类的软件，这也是个庞大的工作，LAN-Free或配合SnapView或TimeFinder来实现个Server-Free的备份，把BCV卷挂上来在另外一个机器上做备份。


EMC的工程师要求不是这样的，CE工程师要求比较综合，也就是综合能力要强，但真得资深工程师，他招人的时候要的是专。。也就是Symm的专项技术。。。。

这个职位是一个大公司的管理员。。。。

楼主，我有点兴趣，但有一项不符合要求，备份我做Netbackup的，并且有比较丰富的经验。但EMC的Networker我是不懂。。。SAN那部分应该完全能满足问题不大。

Symmetrix 的BinFile要美国公司审核的。。外面的人干不了。所以这个我也不会。。

我觉得这个要求更像大的制造业的公司，比如大众汽车等等。。。EMC不会要求这些乱七八糟的。。。

Symmetrix的客户很多，买来玩的也不少。。就算是在EMC，软硬件的实施分开的。。这个全部在一起。。。
