EMC ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF VOYENCEEMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has acquired privately-held Voyence – a leading provider of network configuration and change management solutions that automate critical change, compliance and activation processes.


The acquisition complements and extends EMC’s position in the rapidly-emerging IT Service Management marketplace.
The agreement immediately advances EMC’s solution for managing IT service delivery, providing dramatic new capabilities in network compliance, serviceability and security for end-to-end visibility and control across complex, multi-vendor enterprise and service provider network infrastructures.
The announcement is not expected to have a material impact on revenues or EPS for 2007.




EMC自从收购了SMARTS，RSA后，一直在加强在ITSM领域的能力，现在又收购了能够提供ITIL解决方案的公司Voyence，看来EMC确实在向软件大公司转变。


拥有SMARTS, RSA, Voyence后，EMC应该能够向ITIL, ITSM这一领域的领先者－IBM、HP、BMC发起激烈竞争了。


另外，前些时候收购的Berkeley  Data  Systems（Mozy）在线数据保护服务公司，也是补充其产品服务能力的重要举措。


也许，我们应该另眼看待EMC了，至少应该客观的评价EMC的雄心（maybe野心)，对比什么前后端口数比例、市场策略、CX/DMX指标不公开等等细节，这些公司方向性的发展给我们带来的启发也许更多。
