As a partner in the sales process, the System Engineer participates in the definition of sales strategy and tactics and takes ownership of technical account management
The System Engineer routinely demonstrates the ability to influence technical decision makers by employing proven technical and marketing skills
Responsibilities:
Understanding of company's technology impact on customer's business and take responsibility for all technical issues including: technical sales strategy, definition of customer needs, system design, problem solving and problem escalation
Install and configure software products and technologies with little or no supervision.
Assist with the development of responses to RFP's, RFI', RFQ's and proposals.
Ability to articulate the advantages of company's technologies to Chief Information Officers, Senior Management, and technical architects.
Resolve complex problems on a timely basis and maintain
customer satisfaction
Ability to travel
Evolving interest and expertise in one or more technical areas - e.g. operating systems, RTOS, embedded systems, networking, Internet application, middleware software systems or certain vertical markets (Television, Wireless, Cellular Infrastructure,
Telecommunications, Embedded Gateways, Automobile, Gaming)
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering
2+ years experience in the role of Systems Engineer or equivalent
Positive attitude, proactive behavior, and a high desire for achievement.
Willingness to form a strong partnership with sales counterparts.
3+ years computer software industry experience.
2+ years experience with object-oriented computer languages (Java,
C++,Smalltalk, etc.).
Telco / NEP experience, knowing Huawei, ZTE, and UTStarcom will be a
big plus
Server end middleware software knowledge, knowing Weblogic, Websphere, or SunONE,
Sun JES will be a big plus
Good English skill, has experiences working in a global company will be a big plus
Well developed in highly effective spoken and written communication
skills including English language proficiency
Proactive and highly independent self starter
Presales experience
Assist in the mentoring and training of new employee in the areas of demo, presentation preparation and delivery, corporate review presentations, "company Vision", etc.
Support technical marketing functions at industry tradeshows
