PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Install and establish satisfactory operation of all
EMC hardware and software. Perform pro-active maintenance according to established procedures. Adhere to proper escalation procedures. Perform part replacements as directed by CSC/PSE lab.
2. Includes the timely and accurate submission of all associated documentation as well as part returns within 24 hours of an event. Submit accurate and timely expense reports and timecards.
3. Prepare accurate Clarify cases at the completion of an event. Assure complete customer satisfaction at assigned accounts by adherence to the following: Prompt onsite arrival time, Technical expertise, Knowledge of customer environment, Professionalism, periodoc visits as needed
4. Maintain all assigned spare parts, tools and personal test equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or senior employee on-site. Create and maintain account notebooks for all assigned accounts. Maintain microcode at current levels at all assigned accounts
5. Attend training classes as required to develop and maintain a working knowledge of EMC equipment, software, OEM equipment and Basic configurations.
6. Adhere to the Symmetrix Keys to Success. Diagnose limited system malfunctions to isolate problems to EMC, other OEM vendors or software and develop appropriate action plans.
7. Plan installation of new equipment including the creation of basic implementation configuration files.
SKILLS
1. University degree in computer technology or equivalent.
2. Two years directly related experience in field service environment, servicing computers and peripherals
3. Knowledge of
Windows and other Open software system are required
4. Carry a mobile phone and pager; travel and overtime required
5. May be required to work Alternative Work Schedule
6. Physical Requirments: Ability to carry/lift up to 50 pounds. Bending, stooping,climbing ladders,pulling cables.
