The FA MIB software provides an SNMP subagent that lets CX-Series and AX-Series storage systems respond to SNMP requests.
Any host running an SNMP manager, such as HP OpenView®, CA UniCenter®, or DG/UX® with its snmpgetmany query tool, can issue SNMP requests to the supported objects. In such a request, use the community string “public”.
The connUnitStatus object defined in the FA MIB returns storage-system status.
The FA MIB SNMP subagent does not support modifying any object.
New Features and Changes
The FA MIB software is now included with FLARE™ Operating Environment (OE) version 02.19.yyy and is installed on the storage system by default. The user can enable or disable the processing of SNMP MIB read requests via the Navisphere® UI or Navisphere CLI.
Support for iSCSI has been added in this release.
