EMC Proven Professional exams for all levels of competency recognition are offered to EMC employees in a secure proctored environment at Thomson/Prometric locations throughout the world. To register for an exam please review the steps below.

How to Register
To register for an EMC exam at a Thomson/Prometric Testing Center you will first require an exam voucher.  EMC employee exam vouchers can be requested through Thomson/Prometric, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  
Go to www.my-certifications.com/emc.  Provide your first name, last name and valid EMC email address.  An electronic exam voucher will be emailed to your EMC email address.  Employees can request up to a total of eight vouchers.  
Important Note:  Vouchers will only be emailed to EMC email addresses.  
To Schedule An Exam

Once you have an electronic exam voucher you may register for EMC Proven Professional exams by calling Thomson/Prometric at 888-250-3982 in the U.S. and Canada. To register online, please visit Prometric worldwide online registration site, www.Prometric.com

Information Required

Please be prepared to provide the information listed below when scheduling your exam appointment.  
1.        First and last name—Provide your name as you would like it to appear on your certificate.
2.        Identification Number - Thomson/Prometric will assign a unique identification number you can use each time you schedule a new exam. For candidates from U.S., Social Security number may be requested as Identification Number.
3.        Mailing address—Provide the address to which all correspondence should be mailed.
4.        E-mail address—Provide your EMC email address; No correspondence will be sent to your personal email-addresses
5.        Contact phone numbers
6.        Exam number and title
7.        Exam Fee—You will need the electronic voucher that you requested above.  EMC employees will be allowed eight prepaid vouchers.  Additional exams may be taken at the cost of $200 each payable by cash, personal checks, credit cards (American Express, MasterCard, and Visa).  These payment options may vary by country. Please discuss reimbursement options with your manager if you do not pay by Voucher.
Important Note:  If you have tested at a Prometric testing center in the past, be sure that you ask the testing center administrator to use your previous record when registering you for an exam.  In addition, if you have taken an EMC exam in the past and have an existing EMC testing ID, you should use this number to register.  This will avoid creating duplicate accounts in the Thomson/Prometric system.

What to Bring on Exam Day

Exam candidates are required to provide two forms of identification at the testing center, including one photo identification such as a driver's license or a valid passport. Both forms must display the candidate's signature.

Arriving at the Test Center

Candidates should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled exam time.  Candidates arriving more than 15 minutes late are not guaranteed exam availability or a refund.

Reference Materials

To maintain the security of the test environment, candidates are not permitted to bring reference materials of any kind into the testing center.

Exam Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel or reschedule an exam, you must contact the testing center one business day prior to your scheduled exam appointment. Canceling or rescheduling an exam less than 24 hours is subject to a same-day forfeit exam fee and loss of voucher.  Exam fees are due to no-shows.   

New EXAM Retake Policy

As of January 19, 2004 the following retake policy will be implemented for all EMC exams.

If you do not pass an exam the first time, you may retake it at any time. If you do not achieve a passing score a second time, you must wait at least 5 days to retake the exam a third time. If you have passed an exam, you cannot take it again.
