1. Stop the Backup Exec Remote Agent service on the remote machine.
2. Remove the Backup Exec Remote Agent serial number via Additional Options from the Backup Exec
server.
3. On the remote machine, open REGEDT32 and remove the keys below:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
VERITAS\Agent Accelerator for
Windows NT/2000
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BackupExecAgentAccelerator
4. Delete the any of the following folders present from the remote machine via Windows Explorer:
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\RANT
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Install Shield\engine
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Install Shield\Iscript
5. Use Microsoft Installer (MSI) Cleanup utility to remove the item of Backup Exec Remote Agent in Add/Remove Programs

6. Reinstall Backup Exec 9.x Remote Agent if needed.
