Systems Software Engineer
This candidate will be responsible for developing the software for distributed data protection systems.
Responsibility:
-Design and implement network-based data protection SDK
-Develop the interface to backup software and operating systems, and package all components into easily installable software
-Develop the harness for unit and systems-level testing
-Measure and optimize systems performance
-Coordinate with US developers on design and implementation issues
Qualification:
-Education:
Masters degree in CS, EE, math, or related majors
-Experience:
3 years post 4-year college
Ability in building software in Microsoft Windows environment required
Proficiency in systems programming using C and/or C++ in Microsoft Windows environment required
Hands-on experience with networking and distributed systems software required
Familiarity with NTFS, windows networking, and relevant monitoring and diagnostic tools desirable
Understanding of NFS and/or CIFS desirable
Systems-level performance tuning desirable
Understanding of active directory and security desirable
-Skills:
English: reading and writing required; speaking helpful
Strong math background, and analytical skills
Storage Subsystem Qualification Engineer
This candidate will be responsible for qualifying third-party RAID storage subsystem connected to disk-less DD storage
server through fiber-channel (FC).
Responsibility:
-Integrate host FC driver for third-party RAID storage subsystem into DD systems software
-Adapt existing and develop new performance and fault injection tests for RAID subsystem
-Measure raw performance of RAID subsystem
-Perform fault injection tests for RAID subsystem
-Perform system-level tests for RAID subsystem
-Trouble-shoot bugs and performance issues
-Coordinate with US developers on fixing bugs and addressing performance issues
-Qualification:
-Education:
Masters degree in CS, EE, or related majors
-Experience:
4 years post 4-year college
Setting up hardware, developing/building/installing/testing OS and systems software required
Device driver on Linux highly desirable
RAID and JBOD, FC
protocol, HW diagnosis desirable
-Skills:
English: reading, writing, and speaking required
Trouble-shooting and analysis desirable
Compatibility Testing and Certification Engineer
This candidate will be responsible for qualifying backup software for Data Domain (DD) storage devices.
Responsibility:
-Install and upgrade operating systems and backup software on media servers and backup clients
-Add and update test data on backup clients
-Connect backup clients, media servers, and DD storage devices under different network topologies
-Back up data from clients to DD storage devices and restore data from DD storage devices to clients
-Configure, test, and qualify backup software for different media server platforms
-Trouble-shoot issues during backup and restore
-Identify workable and optimal backup software setting for DD storage devices
-Automate repetitive aspects of testing
Qualification:
-Education:
Bachelors degree in CS, EE, or related majors
-Experience:
2 years post 4-year college
Setting up hardware, and installing OS/other software required
Administering network and backup software highly desirable
Software development and testing helpful
-Skills:
English: reading and writing required; speaking helpful
Trouble-shooting and analysis desirable
Systems Management Engineer
This candidate will be responsible for developing the management software of data protection systems.
Responsibility:
-Implement management GUI and web interface for data protection software
-Interface with core software and third party management software
-Coordinate with US developers on design and implementation issues
Qualification:
-Education:
Bachelors degree in CS, EE, math, or related majors
-Experience:
2 years post 4-year college
Ability in building software in Microsoft Windows environment required
Proficiency in application programming using C and/or C++ in Microsoft Windows environment required
Familiarity with GUI programming using C and/or C++ in Microsoft Windows environment highly desirable
Familiarity with GUI programming using html and/or java highly desirable
Prior systems management experience desirable
